International Space Station

I was looking up on April 23rd  from Crosby at the ISS as it sped across the sky when this fantastic photo was taken by www.twitter.com/Commander Hadfield. You can get notifications of when the ISS is visible from your location on twitter at @VirtualAstro  https://twitter.com/VirtualAstro

Twitter name @Cmdr_Hadfield is currently the commander of the International Space Station and regularly tweets beautiful photographs from space. The ISS orbit is approximately 250 miles above the Earth and completes an orbit every 90 minutes . It is often very bright, obvious and appears to pass by about twice as fast as a Passenger Jet (550 mph at 6 miles up) even though it is travelling at more than 17 thousand miles an hour(5 miles a second)
