There is one petitioned application in Victoria Ward at this meeting. The application is for 71 Crosby Road North L23 4QD. where permission is sought for the installation of a Hot-Food Takeaway including a ventilation flue.
The Committee are asked to consider the petition, the impact on the vitality and viability of the centre, the effect on residential amenity, health issues and highway implications.
Officers have recommended that the application be approved.
There is a petition of 27 signatures endorsed by Councillor Byrom. Which includes the following objections:
noise nuisance, vibrations, pollution, odours, traffic issues, parking problems,
don’t need another takeaway, increased levels of customers, disturbance, anti social
behaviour, adverse impact on residential amenity, too many fast food outlets in the area,
litter, vermin, loss of amenity, health issues.
The new store next to the original Bakery on 51 Coronation road was thronged with well-wishers and customers.

Local resident Bob Hughes said he was delighted to be able to buy a Satterthwaites meat pie again at long last. Bob said he would be eating his whilst watching the Grand National this afternoon. Bob’s tip for the National is number 28 “Rare Bob” ridden by Brian Cooper. at 18/1(It came 5th at 16/1)

Open to people from any area, this is the newest and most enjoyable Outdoor Multi Activity Centre in Liverpool! That the application for the Grant of a Premises Licence in respect of 95-97 Liverpool Road, Crosby subject to certain conditions including closing doors and windows where amplification is used and regular meetings between the Licence holder and residents.

Work begins this week on the Sainsbury’s store in Crosby village. Kieran Grealis the Sainsbury’s Project manager says:
“To improve the shopping experience for our customers and make the best of our existing store, we will be making improvements to the entrance lobby and ATM. We will make more room in the store by making the bakery area smaller.”
The work will be taken overnight on Sunday to Fridays commencing 18th March and will last around nine weeks.
